Nutrition requirements between a puppy and an adult dog are different. A growing puppy needs more proteins, minerals and vitamins to supply to his rapid growth.

Protein and calcium and phosphorus supply to growth of teeth and bones. The absence of calcium and phosphorus will effect a puppy's growth, even cause incomplete develop of bones or cause rickets. To absorb too many nutrients could obstruct the proper growth; even make more serious health problems, including obesity, bone disorder, heart disease or kidney disease and so on.

Choosing vegetarian diet foods that contain the formula of sufficient nutrients a puppy needs should be taken care more. Food can be softened by warm water if it is too dry and hard to eat.
